For about four years, I worked in public education as a paraprofessional in a special needs program for students with emotional disabilities. Prenda empowers learners through autonomy and provides resources that meet them at their level but still challenges them. Prenda has taken the parts of public education that I liked and addressed those that didn't make sense.
